I was looking through my "eBay seller newsletter," arrived today.

One note on the "new things coming" list was the fact that-- later this year-- eBay will institute a listing rule that photos can be no less than 500 pixels, on its longest side.

As someone who uses eBay a LOT to buy new items for my collection, it made me wonder whether this might finally mean the end of "fuzzy little photos" of stamps, in auction listings.

Will it mean the end of this (stripped from an actual eBay auction):

to be replaced by something more like this:

Be still, my beating heart...

All in good fun...

I believe it when I see it, but actualy hope they do make improvements - maybe they are learning from Delcampe. I will still host my own as "Turtle"lister is still an awkward and slow program to use.

Interesting! Does that mean people can't use phones to take photos? I have never used a camera-phone, but I doubt they take great photos... Thoughts?

Mobile Phone Cameras have come a long way. The Androids and the new I-Phones both now incorporate an 8 Mega-Pixel Camera that takes very nice photos and soon the death of Digital Cameras will be inevitable.

I like the fact that some sellers take crappy photos as you will rarely see bids on pieces with fuzzy pictures so if they can't figure out why their items don't sell, then let them struggle I say.
