Today is the 26th Jan. This date means it is the end of my month long birthday. But the best of all it is Australia Day!

So today I will prepare 200 1d red Australia KGVs and list them separately at 69c each tomorrow, not checked for anything except dates, just for the fun of it.

To help me on this journey of selling stamps I have built a relationships with 2 of the most successful stamp dealers in Australia. Their advice has been spot on with Australian stamps.

They have both warned me that the last 2 weeks of Jan and the 1st 2 weeks of Feb is as slow as and to be very careful.

It looks like to sell over the next couple of weeks will be hard but I have also been told to be creative, do something different.

Always Happy Stamping. KGV

Yes! But I will have to wait till my wife comes home tomorrow. Once a year she has a little holiday at her mum's. I have not learnt that bit yet.

If all else fails .com "eyes4stamps".

KGVI Collector,

Another indication for this slow-selling time of the year is the promotion Ebay US is having now - it's free to list today and tomorrow.

They always do it when things slow down...

I have thought this before also! I think, what is happening or not happening a week from now when the auction will end (I list auction style when I do)?

eBay must keep track of slow days and non slow days from their point of view, in revenue earned and want to promote sales when they predict things will be slow.

Link to KGV listings: (User name kg5collector)
http://myworld.ebay.com/kg5collector/
and click on the Items For Sale link on the left.

John, in the future, to get this link, click on your user name on eBay and it will take you to your 'My World' page on eBay. Then click on and select the URL of that page and paste that to wherever you need to, like here on SCF.

I usually erase the extra numbers at the end of the link as they are just for eBay to track where and when the link was copied.

To get a link of a single listing just go to the page of that listing and copy the URL and paste it where you need to.

There is also the Insert Hyperlink icon in the editing window on SCF but I am not too familiar with it. Must try it out tomorrow.

We have had over 900mm or 3ft of rain this week. We are so flooded I can not get to our local PO even.
This morning as it rained heaps more on top of what we already have had. I was as dry as a bone listing the 200 1d red KGVs and some other stuff as well because it was a list for free day on .com . The sound of the cricket over the noise of the rain was very nice. Every time the noise on the TV got loud I would watch the replays.
Perfect time for stamping it was indeed. One minute it was 7.30am the next it was 1.30pm. The rain stopped for a couple of hours and it took the best part of a can water spray repellent on the cars electrics to start it. Made it to our local PO and back home and it started to pouring with rain again. Looked at the rain gauge again and we have had another 200mm and it is 7pm and getting dark. It is still pouring with rain. Well back to stamping, I could not think of a better thing to do. Looks like a lot more stamping as the weather report says another week of rain to go.

In Halifax here we are just having a bit of snow and then ice pellets and then freezing rain and then rain on top of it all, hopefully warming up before morning (in January warming up amazing) and so a tricky night to be out and better to be in and warm with your family and stamps.

It is always amazing to me all the different conditions and weathers that people live in and can be happy (more or less) in.

Good topic for stamps, people happy in different environments.

And it would hold together if made of modern self adhesive stamp glue.

Puzzler!

I have awoken and it is not raining. That means the full on humidity and hot weather is not far away and after that more rain. The best sleep I have had for a long time. Those rainy nights that nice and warm and being dry in bed and the sound of rain on a tin roof. It is nearly as good as stamping.

Well it is about 15mins before the 200 1d red singularly listed KGVs start to sell.

53 have bids on them and 8 have more than 1 bid.

It will be interesting how this auction ends up.

It looks like this type of auction is popular.

Have to go to the mainland today so it will all over by the time I get back.
My wife will do the relisting today.
