I've been buying all my supplies (mounts from this place for the past couple months. Probably 9-10 different orders by now. I like them - good pricing, they combine shipping and very fast shipping.

They always use stamps, older ones on the padded mailers.

The strange thing is I just got my latest order today and again not one of the stamps was cancelled. Today's had 9 different stamps on it. I say again as in every single package I've ordered has arrived this way. I should have kept track and scanned the envelopes all along but I never thought this would continue over and over.

Here's todays

anybody else order from them and see the same thing?

I don't have an answer for the non cancelled stamps.

Perhaps it helps explain why the USPS lost $14 billion last year. Reusable postage?

Many of the stamps I've gotten on their envelopes have been placed in mounts and into my album :) I think I even need all 4 of those birds from today's.

They've used se-tenant blocks, aimail stamps, stamps from the 40's on up. None came to me cancelled lol

I'd never reuse them, they just go into my collection. I'm sure many people do though

I got one the same way no cancellation and it had four or five stamps on it. I thought it was sure strange and figured the post office just missed the stamps. But they still aren't mint because when you soak them off the envelope the glue is gone.

I've been getting the same thing from Canada Post. Uncanceled stamps on my mail. Oh well. Their loss, my gain.

Glad to see you like GV Collectables as they run a good business. I probably visit them at least once every couple of months as they are only a 30 minute drive from me.

I buy from them quite a bit and like that they use real postage. And they have very good prices.

Agreed, always a pleasure doing business with them. I do tend to buy my supplies from another dealer though. Their auctions can turn up some nice things.

I have had the same type of experience with items that have been sent from GB to Australia - some of them could have been very nice "postally used" covers - doesnt appear to be any logic other than just plain laziness I suppose

Smauggie, if you use Vario's I found a pretty decent place locally to buy them for a good price, closer than Golden Valley too.

You have to pick them up in person as this particular Hobby Shop does not yet embrace the e-commerce way of business....very old School here. For the older members you grew up in the Model building days this store is an absolute treat to visit as they carry thousands of Models and every accessory for building one.

I stop there every time I'm in the Cities...a great selection of small pieces/parts. Haven't priced Varios there, but I'll have to, next time...

[actually, it never occurred to me that they might have stamp-collecting supplies... ]

Golden Valley is great for supplies, I live 20 minutes from there. They have a huge inventory of supplies I usally spend at least an hour walking around looking at things. it"s currently called GV stamp and coin, the supplies part of the business is Gopher supply. They do alot of wholesale.
