I have old stamps from Paraguay that I guess are bogus (i´ve read on scot catalogue), my curiosity is to know if they are a product of Boston Gang ( Samuel Allan Taylor Stamps) or from Hamburg Gang (Philip Spiro Stamps).

i read the website page. It could be stupid question but since I am new in this area, I dont know what you mean when you say that is a trial stamp?

More information about the stamps:
This stamps are from a collector that born in germany in XIX (1860) century, he then came to portugal runing away from 2 world war. He died with more than 80 years old in Portugal. I got acess to his collection throw his granddaughter and I assure that his collecton wasn´t touched after he died, so it means that this stamps have at least 100 years old if not more.

All 3 stamps shown are Spiro forgeries. The ship stamp is a Spiro forgery of the Allan Taylor bogus issue. The lion stamps are Spiro forgeries of the 1860s essay.

Thanks :) for the information. Two of the stamps have a type of overprint that shows they were canceled by some regulator, which mean they tried to be used oficially at the time, I read about Philip Spiro and his stamps (Hamburg Gang), and it matches with some caractheristcs. Are they rare/common how valuable can they be?

On the ship forgery, the 6 lines in 4 rings cancel is a typical Spiro forged cancel for that stamp. In your particular example, you can only see the 4-ring part of the cancel.

I've only seen forged dot cancels on the Zechmeyer forgeries of the lion stamp. I have not seen it on the Spiro forgeries, but I haven't seen a comprehensive presentation of all the different Spiro lion forgeries. Forged dot cancels were made by Spiro on some of his forged stamps, but the ones I've seen usually consist of slightly larger dots.
