To the members that are reporting the topics in the wrong forum, it really helps. Please keep it up and anyone else that wants to join in feel free. Just please be sure to indicate which forum it belongs in with your note. Not being very knowledgeable myself, I'm not always sure where they go myself if it's not indicated.

BOBBY131313------ It drives me nuts when they switch stuff out of the GENERAL DISCUSSION section to a different location . Did you ever notice how the respond rate drops off to almost zero . Leave those postings alone if they get four or five postings .
Most readers only check two or three sections and don't wander around this site . A example would be the Christmas greetings of yesterday by a few posters and myself ,when they transferred it the responds went way down ,and then someone posted a second posting of Christmas and the respond got lots of postings and very little in the same posting the previous day . Merry Christmas .

For the record floortrader, I am the one who moved those Christmas greetings. I was trying to put them in a place where people would see them.

While I'm on the subject, I have NEVER understood why people don't use the ACTIVE button at the top of the page -- it will show you every new post since your last login. And unlike the list at the bottom of the page, the ACTIVE button groups them by Forum, so you can read the ones you want, skip the others.

That's the question, and ...

... that's the answer.

I keep my SCF browser tag open, so I login maybe once/month.

And I monitor only the lists at the bottom of the page, as my interests are fairly broad, the areas I know nothing about even broader, and climbing up & down the forum menu tree ...

YMMV.

Cheers,

/s/ ikeyPikey

I'm afraid I'm with ikeyPikey here. I leave the tab open pretty much at all times, so the Active button shows me *way* more than I need. I'd really, really prefer an Unread button that I could just refresh to flush out what I've already seen. The problem with the last 100 active is missing a lot if you wait too long before the refresh.

Just hit the AR button...

I go to active topics, then hold down the control key, and click on all the topics I want to read. That opens them all in new tabs. I go to the last one and start reading, closing the tabs as I finish them. When I get back to the active topics page I click the AR button. Any topics that had new activity since the last load will now be the only ones that show.

Heh, tough to hold down the CTRL key when you don't actually have a keyboard on the tablet. The onscreen keyboard releases the CTRL at each click...
