Any Prexy cover collectors here? What is a good reference for determining the scarce/rare usage of the US Prexy stamps on cover?

check out the newsletter of the USSS 1938 Presidential-Era Committee of the United States Stamp Society if you're really interested in Prexies. http://www.usstamps.org/committees/...a-committee/

Thank you for the links guys. Looks like a great start!

I wasn't sure if the correct spelling is Prexy or Prexie; I've seen it both ways. What the preferred spelling?

Check-out my friend's (Bob Hohertz's) website. And you really need to join the Presidential-Era Committee of the United States Stamp Society, as suggest above. It's the best place to go for interesting Prexie Rates & Usages. You should also purchase Roland Rustad's book, "THE PREXIES."

Thanks for all the responses! After watching Jeffrey Shapiro's presentation, I've realized why the search for elusive usages on cover is quite the challenge. The eBay sales are astounding!

Is anyone familiar with the Presidential Stamp Series presentation portfolio published by the USPS in the early 1970s? It includes the entire 1938 Prexie series mounted on descriptive pages along with other presidential stamps through the 8c Lyndon B. Johnson issue. I am not sure if it was available for the general public or just presented to USPS executives.

I see they've already chimed in with "The Prexies" by Roland Rustad. It is published by the US Stamp Society who, incidentally, have even more Prexie information. You can also find copies of the book on Amazon.
