have usa surcharged franklyn one cent imperforate on right hand side. will this increase its value?

These stem from the cutting of the sheet. They're usually considered less desirable than those perforated on all four sides.

I remember someone saying that as straight edges are much less common on a sheet than fully perforated stamps, shouldn't they bring a premium? I guess aesthetics (perfs on four sides) trumps scarcity in this case.

Supply and demand. Supply is smaller since the number of straight edge stamps in a pane is less than fully perf stamps. But as you say, many collectors do not like the way a straight edge stamp looks and avoid them.

i dont know how to scan stamps my son comes tomorrow and I will get him to put photos on. thanks for help.
