Enlarging and flipping the "B63" stamp, I believe it is another B65 (not a bad problem to have). I don't see a note in Gibbons regarding B63, and the only color I see in the place that would need to form the rest of the "3" is part of the frame.

Though if it was mine, I'd take a close look under magnification, just to be sure.

Nice page. And nice pickup for BeeSee.

BeeSee, my pleasure, I'll post you a letter at my local post office this morning. Unfortunately they do not apply the postmarks there, so I cannot request nice postmarks. However I hope you like the two B6X cancellations from both Mauritius dependencies.

Paperhistory and Cjd - thanks to you both for your interest and research. Cjd is correct. I found 15 different numeral cancellations, but no B63. However I found several B65, more than I need myself. It seems to me you two also have a particular interest for these postmarks. If you are interested in a B65 for your own keeping I will be happy to send both of you one as well (free). Same goes for GeoffHa and Renden also. PM me if truly interested in such postmarks. The pleasure of my eBay find only gets greater if I can share the pleasure.

I'll be surprised if they get it to me by middle of next week...if I mail a letter to another resident of my little town, and even if I use the person's post office box for the address, and hand it over the counter to the postmistress, it will take two days for the recipient to receive it.

That letter could travel ten feet. Instead it travels nearly 250 miles. I guess I'm getting my money's worth out of the stamp?

Same scenario where I live. In the 1890's local post distribution was done four times daily, and a letter could potentially reach the receiver within hours. Today it takes two days minimum, and it is called progress!
