Can anybody say if this comma after the YORK is common or a variety?? Thanks!

All L5 local types (and L6 as well) have the comma. This forme was used on a wide range of denominations - certainly up to 50c and quite possibly beyond. Usually the comma is better inked and shows up as solid colour rather than in outline.

Thank you, Bamra!

I was talking about exactly this outline color in comma. This is normal?

It is not very common, but sometimes happens when the printing mat does not pick up enough ink for some reason. It is not an error, but it could be classified as a freak condition or an oddity.

It is common on bars and letters; since commas are infrequent on precancels, ipso facto underinked commas will not be thick on the ground. But they are of no philatelic importance - they are just a comma in need of an ink drink.

This is an indicator that the precancel device is starting to wear and that the ink was not evenly applied.

For example, the following precancels show the entire precancel as an outline.

Not a rare variety, but still rather striking, I think. I value these at less than the catalogue values because they are what should probably be termed freaks.
